The Superior Trusses Journey

The vision for Superior Trusses began in the early 2000s, sparked by a desire to build something lasting. What emerged was a family-centered business that would prioritize integrity, craftsmanship, and service. After years in the construction industry, the founder, Sam Brubaker, began exploring opportunities to create a company where his sons could be involved in meaningful work and where quality products would be the foundation for growth.

Conversations about launching a truss manufacturing facility began in the fall of 2004. With a clear vision and a strong foundation of industry experience, efforts quickly turned toward sourcing equipment. A component saw from New York, a C-clamp system from a bankruptcy sale in Pennsylvania, and eventually a full 70’ truss line from Virginia laid the groundwork for operations to begin.

March 2005 marked a turning point when the team visited Pro Line Truss in Ohio to study production methods. We also sought advice from DL Truss, LLC on truss fabricating and equipment. Shortly after, Superior Trusses began producing their first orders. While early output had room for improvement, those initial projects laid the groundwork for a relentless pursuit of quality and consistency.

Determined to deliver a superior product dedicated to shorter lead times, the team invested in upgraded equipment, improved systems, and most importantly, refined their techniques. Mentorship from experienced builders and feedback from early customers played a key role in shaping the business. Orders gradually increased as Superior earned a reputation for reliability, honest communication, and the willingness to go the extra mile.

By 2006, the company hit a major milestone—building 100 trusses in a single day. That same year saw the integration of a delivery fleet, starting with local drops and growing to include crane-equipped trucks, enabling timely and efficient service.

Growth continued with strategic developments:

  • 2008 – Superior moved into a fully equipped facility at the former Wicks Lumber site, expanding both production capacity and team size.
  • 2013 – Mark Martin joined as a partner, bringing new leadership and vision.
  • 2015 – The company acquired and remodeled the Weber Farm property into a full-scale truss plant, launching operations in spring 2016.
  • 2018 – Expansion into Benton Ridge, NY, extended Superior’s regional reach.
  • 2021 – The Lititz location opened, with a modernized shop and office designed to support continued growth and efficiency.

Throughout its evolution, Superior Trusses has remained committed to its core values:

  • Craftsmanship refined through experience
  • Responsive customer service and lead times that meet real-world demands
  • Cost-effective solutions without compromising structural integrity

Today, Superior Trusses stands as a testament to long-term vision, hard work, and a commitment to continuous improvement. The team is dedicated to building with integrity, ensuring each project is completed with precision and care. Most importantly, the journey has been guided by faith and a deep sense of purpose.
